It was low surf and few surfers tonight at the Huntington Beach Pier. But....
The bristlecone pine grows at an altitude of over 10,000 ft. in the Bristlecone National Forest on the eastern edge of California. Many of the trees are nearly 5,000 years old with the oldest being 5,064 (germination in 3049 BC. It's location in the park is secret to help in it's protection.
This is an actual sunset at Madaket beach on the far western tip of Nantucket.
It's been a strange few days in SoCal weather with the appearance of actual rain for three of the last four days. Tonight we were hoping the clearing weather would make a nice sunset over Long Beach harbor. We got lucky.
