Coastline - Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park sits on Mount Desert Island on Maine's rocky coast.  Here, ridges of granite were sculpted by glaciers measuring up to 9,000 feet thick to create the landscape of Acadia. Evidence of the glaciers can be seen just about everywhere, especially in the this rugged coastline near the southeast corner of the island.

It's a treat to rise early and be in position to see the golden light of dawn light up these granite formations. You have to work quickly because the dawn light quickly gives way to the white light of mid-day.
