"Welcome Home"

October 02, 2016

Author Bill Bryson wrote: “To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.”

Travel gives you insight not only of the culture in which you’re traveling but of your own culture as well. The more I travel the more I realize that the motivations of family, work and play are the cornerstones of every society.

My month-long traverse of Italy has sadly ended. Nevertheless, it’s really nice when the immigration officer says “Welcome Home”.

If you enjoyed my Facebook posts and photos over the last weeks please please return here to my blog. Over the coming weeks I’ll be posting many of the images in my posts and a bunch you haven’t seen.

This is a sample of what I'll be posting. It's the view from Enrico and Alda’s house in Greve In Chianti on a morning where the evening storm was breaking.
