Some days you just plain get fortunate. Way back, I was assigned to do a feature on the U.S. Olympic rowing team who were training on Lake Placid in the Adirondacks. The training session was to start before sunrise which was way out of my body's normal cycle. I had my long 300mm and tele-converter all hooked up and ready as I hopped onto the coach's follow boat. The luck was when the sun popped through the morning fog and I realized I had my 24mm lens on my second camera. Take the shot John, my brain said as I realized the cosmos was sending me a gift.
