Panzano - Chianti In Tuscany!
This is Panzano, a medieval village perched defensively on a hilltop in the center of the Chianti region of Tuscany. The villages of Chianti are often characterized by Romanesque churches and fortified medieval castles, signs of the ancient wars between Siena and Florence.
As you would expect, vineyards and olive groves surround Panzano. There is a delightful small piazza in the center of the village that hosts a farmers market every Sunday morning. You can buy all your fresh produce, breads, meats, wines and other essentials all in one spot this day. The highlight of the village is the special butcher's shop. This shop is known all over Italy for its meat and colorful butcher.
