I needed some fresh air and a drive yesterday so I headed for Sequoia National Park. We're blessed in SoCal to be within a day's drive of at least seven National Parks.
To reach the multi-thousand year old sequoias you climb a hyper curvy road to about 6000'. There within the varied pine species are monumental groves of sequoias. This massive speciment is a resident of Sequoia's Giant Forest and is more than 1,500 years old. It's difficult to believe it started off as a seed barely the size of an oat flake.
