Ah Rome! It seems Europeans have perfected the art of the stroll. Especially in Italy, a late afternoon walk is savored by all. It's a time to see and be seen and, most importantly, a time to feel connected to your people.
This is the scene at the walking hour in Rome at the Piazza de Spagna seen from the famous Spanish Steps. In the middle of the square is the famous Fontana della Barcaccia sculpted by Pietro Bernini and his son, the more famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini. At one corner of the Spanish Steps rises the house of the English poet John Keats, who lived there until his death in 1821.
What a wonderful city.
